We were delighted to be part of AOL’s Monster Impact day which took place at our site in Ballinascorney on the 13th May 2016.
This is now the fifth Impact day we have organised with the help of AOL and each year the group increases in size, commitment and what is achieved.
This year saw thirty- four volunteers join with our community to complete a number of key tasks. This included upgrading the fencing at numerous locations on site to include the camp site area and securing the pathways down to the bridge and the area adjacent to the location of the Stone Cell; continuing the work on the stepped area at the Stone Cell and the building of a seated wind barrier in the camp site area.
It was fantastic to see so many faces we have come to know over the years and also to welcome some new recruits who have promised to return next year.
An important part of the Monster day is the group coming together to share home cooked food and of course lemon drizzle which was made by Trish. It seems to sustain everyone beyond anything they believed they were capable to achieving.
Thank you again to everyone who shared their time, skills and fun with us.
