The Board of Trustees of the Matt Talbot Community Trust has overall responsibility to ensure that the governance of the organisation is in line with best practice and that all operational functions meet all requirements under current legislation, charitable and company law and health & safety standards. The Matt Talbot Community Trust has started the journey to become fully compliant with The Governance Code. The Governance Code is a ‘Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable Organisations in Ireland’. It has been created for the sector by the sector to allow organisations put in place policies and procedures, along 5 main principles, that will make sure the organisation runs effectively. Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public
The organisation has begun the journey to becoming fully compliant with the fundraising guidelines outlined by the Charities Regulator on the 28th September 2017. You can view the guidelines here.
QuADS (Quality Standards in Alcohol and Drugs Services) is a quality standards framework that was developed by Drug Scope and Alcohol Concern in the UK in 1999 and has been selected as the guiding quality standard framework for HSE Addiction Services in Ireland.
Child Protection Officer
Children First provides a set of sound principles and good practice guidelines for organisations that provide services to children. Everyone has a duty to protect children and the Government has introduced these national guidelines to strengthen arrangements for the protection of children. They emphasise the importance of inter-agency co-operation and outline the various steps to be followed in order to protect children at risk and try to prevent the recurrence of child abuse.
