The Matt Talbot Community Trust operates a Key Working System. Each participant has a named member of staff who is responsible for their care within the programme. Key Working ensures that nobody is left without the support that they need. The Key Working system is central to the creation of an atmosphere of trust and belonging which is at the core of what we do.
Saol Nua (New Life) Peer Support Programme
The Matt Talbot Community Trust runs a peer led support group that meets once per week. The group works to prevent relapse through the sharing and processing of individual’s experiences and mutually supporting one another. The group also explores alternative social activities that don’t involve drugs or alcohol. Saol Nua is run by a member of staff trained in group facilitation. The Saol Nua Support Group is generously supported by the Community Fund through Ballyfermot Advance Project.
Supported Work Placement Programme
The Matt Talbot Community Trust delivers a supported work placement programme that is tailored to the individual stregnths and educational experiences of our participants. The programme is run in conjunction with Business in the Community. Participants access several days training with advice and workshops around CV building, psychometric testing and mock interviews. Participants then complete work placements that are targeted to provide a high level of learning and experience to the participant. Participants and employers both receive support throughout the process.
