Over 560,000 people volunteer their time every year in Ireland’s 11,500 community and voluntary organisations (8,500 of which are registered charities). These non-profit organisations together employ over 100,000 staff, involve over 50,000 people as directors/trustees/board-members and together these organisations make up Ireland’s community and voluntary sector, with a total combined income of over €6bn a year (The Wheel, 2016).
We have all read the slogan “Your Community Needs You”. At Matt Talbot we firmly believe in the principle that communities are stronger when we work together to address issues that impact on the quality of life at an individual and community level.
From our perspective the formation of a partnership approach is an effective way to empower and affect positive enduring change both within our own and the wider community.
To this end we provide a number of ways that you can get involved in the day to day work of the Matt Talbot, support our organisation through Board membership, support a range of fund raising initiatives, become a Friend of Matt Talbot Community Trust, or run an event on behalf of the organisation.
